Why did you create this site?

I wanted an outlet for my passion and hobby. I enjoy Montessori Lower Elementary so much! Building this site was a way for me to connect with like minded people and inspire or assist. 

What is your teaching role like?

Right now I am currently the Head Teacher in a Lower Elementary Classroom. I lead a team of four (including me) to teach on average 32 students. I personally teach Language Arts and Intervention, and oversee all classroom operations. 

What is your biggest challenge?

I always find myself aiming higher or wanting more. I'm never content with how things are and am always thinking of how we can make things just a little better. This tires some, and leaves me with several questions with no clear answers! 

Why did you choose Montessori?

I grew up in a Montessori school. I was the poor kid in a Montessori school (before scholarships existed), but was never "the poor kid." I appreciate the way school became home for me. It was my safe, predictable, comfortable, challenging home. I want that conflict resolution, total peace, "more" experience for all of my students. I am a lifelong learner, and I knew I couldn't impart these values in a traditional classroom.
